Counselling and Psychotherapy can help with many issues including:
Anxiety, Depression, Stress Management, Bereavement, Couples Issues, Life Stage Change, Sleep, Eating Disorders, Low Esteem and Personal Development.
I am an accredited BACP counsellor psychotherapist with over 20 years of professional experience.
I use an integrative approach in my work, which means I choose the most appropriate strand from my training (Person Centred, Psychodynamic and CBT) to help to help an individual or couple with a particular issue or difficulty.
Counselling provides a safe place to work through difficulties such as anxiety, depression, stress, grief, and relationship problems. The counselling process helps you make sense of your feelings and develop the new understanding and skills you need to cope more effectively.
I work with individuals and couples, and am trained in both short term solution focused work and in long term psychotherapy.
Since 2002 I have worked in private practice in Newark, where I see mainly individuals for short term focussed work, or longer term therapy who have self referred. I also see people from Employee assistance Programmes such as PPC and BUPA, and couples with relationship issues. Previously I worked for RELATE as a counsellor and trainer, as a student counsellor in F.E. and more recently in the NHS.
I have a B.Sc. from King’s College, London, alongside a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am a RELATE trained couples therapist and have a certificate in couples counselling and also an Advanced Diploma in CBT.
